Ensuring an Olympic legacy, and fixing primary care
The Paris games have just started - and France has made a concerted effort to ensure that this year's Olympics will have a legacy of physical activity for the whole population.
However, mega sporting events don't always have that effect, and Fiona Bull, head of physical activity for the WHO, joins us to explain why it's increasingly important that they do.
We'll also hear from Professor Sir Denis Perera Gray about how a lifetime of general practice, and why continuity needs to be at the heart of any improvement to primary care.
Finally, Harry Brunjes went from being a village GP to the chair of English National Opera, and explains what the two careers have in common.

Derogation, an ultra processed food system, and catch up pay for the NHS
Просмотров 70Месяц назад
Derogation, the way in which striking doctors can be recalled to the ward to protect patient safety, was agreed by NHS England and the BMA. Now, new data The BMJ has uncovered (www.bmj.com/content/384/bmj.q740) shows that the mechanism was rarely used - and when it was tried, was often rejected. Gareth Iacobucci explains what that means about relations between the government, the NHS, and docto...

This is only an isolated contractor in Texas with 3 sites and about 1000 subjects out of the total 44000 in the study. So, is it concerning? Sure. But anti-vax nut jobs (usually right wing) want us to take this information and throw the baby out with the bath water. It’s not rational to dismiss entirely the efficacy of the vaccine trials.

This is fundamentally wrong and it seems no one in science has realized this. (I doubt that but it really seems so). You would have to eat that same meal, then defecate into the calorimeter, measure the calories in your turd, and take the difference.

  • @-_Nuke_-

Who cares about heating water with food!? Food isn't just about energy... There are stuff inside our food that are not transformed into "energy" but are required as building blocks for our body... Where is the account for them? CALORIES make no sense... They are a naive measurement that people missinterpret and throw around like they know what they are talking about - and then they wonder "why can't I lose weight, Im eating very small amount of calories" FIRST OF ALL *MORON* you can't "eat calories". Just like you can't eat "seconds" or "meters" - you CANT EAT a calorie... You are eating molecules and the way that these molecules are processed inside the actual body - the term "calorie" - gives you ZERO INSIGHT about it...

  • @-_Nuke_-
    @-_Nuke_- Месяц назад

CALORIES ARE NOT *CONTAINED* in the food... The food contains *M O L E C U L E S* that if we combine them with oxygen (a process known as "burning") then these molecules release energy that can boil water and we MEASURE this energy - and we N A M E I T Calories 1) You can't BURN calories... Just like you can't burn kgs or meters or seconds... You can't burn a International System of Units... 2) Calories are not contained anywhere... Just like a meter isn't contained inside a stick, or seconds are not contained inside a clock... WILL WE EVER LEARN TO SPEAK ENGLISH PROPERLY?

This study explored the excess all-cause mortality in 47 countries of the Western World from 2020 until 2022. The overall number of excess deaths was 3,098,456. Excess mortality was registered in 87% of countries in 2020, in 89% of countries in 2021 and in 91% of countries in 2022. During 2020, which was marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the onset of mitigation measures, 1,033,122 excess deaths (P-score 11.4%) were to be regretted. A recent analysis of seroprevalence studies in this prevaccination era illustrates that the Infection Fatality Rate estimates in non-elderly populations were even lower than prior calculations suggested. At a global level, the prevaccination Infection Fatality Rate was 0.03% for people aged <60 years and 0.07% for people aged <70 years. For children aged 0-19 years, the Infection Fatality Rate was set at 0.0003%.

I have to say, reading rfk's book, I'm considering the possibility that they faked the data in the trial. Why else did they wait until 2024 to the last day to publish the results? The more distance time wise to the event, the harder to follow trails. Also it's like the only placebo controlled trial out there, like suddenly they can do that and with the newest unproven tech at that? If it turns out the adverse effects data is fake, I hope someone can tie this back to the leadership and refer them to the icc I wonder if they were as surprised (because the whole pandemic struck me as a preplanned joke), maybe pleasantly surprised who knows, that they unleashed quite a sob of a virus

When a soldier returns from a far away country after having killed strangers for purposes that his government told him are in the "defense" of his own country, but are really crimes in order to make the weapon manufacturers even more rich, people tell him "Thank you for your service!' When a woman calls out a company that participates in a project where billions of lives depend upon, and shows their manipulation and malpractice, she is fired, they try to ruin her reputation and even threat people like this with jail. Next time you thank a soldier for their service, think twice, if you haven't shown the slightest of appreciation to brave women like this. They just might be the ones that may prevent the next assault on our health by greedy corporations and corrupt politicians.
